PM backs plan to give 5,250 Palestinians work permits

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Wednesday on Wednesday gave his support for a plan to increase the number of Palestinian workers allowed to work in Israel.

The plan was put forward by Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer who has requested a number of times an increase in the number of workers from the West Bank who can work in Israel. According to the plan 4,000 Palestinians will be allowed to work in construction and 1,250 in agriculture, which gives total of 5,250 workers who are all from the West Bank.
