PM calls Hollande, praises him for military action in Mali

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke Thursday with French President Francois Hollande and expressed his respect for France's military actions in Africa.
"You took a courageous step against extreme Islamic terrorism," Netanyahu said, after sending his condolences for the loss of French lives. "In my meeting with African leaders I have learned to what degree this phenomenon threatens the future of the continent."
Netanyahu said that while for some countries the threat of terrorism is thousands of kilometers from the homes of their citizens, "we in Israel know up close the threat of Islamic terrorism. For us it is just a few hundred meters from our home."
