Sources in the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office responded late Tuesday to reported slurs made about the premier by US administration official, saying that Netanyahu will continue to remain firm on the security interests of Israeli citizens and on the Jewish people's historic rights in Jerusalem.

"No pressure will change that," the sources said.

Jeffrey Goldberg, diplomatic correspondent for The Atlantic, cited earlier Tuesday a conversation with an Obama official who labeled Netanyahu a "chickenshit" for what the official said was the prime minister's lack of courage to launch wars.
