Pakistani security forces killed at least 14 terrorists after targeting their hide-outs near the Afghan border on Wednesday.

Pakistani official Rasheed Khan said the military used ground forces and fighter jets during operations in three areas of the Orakzai tribal region.

He said one soldier was also wounded in the clashes.

Orakzai is a terrorist stronghold and the military has launched several offensives to clear the region of insurgents. It is located in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province.

The remoteness of region makes it difficult to independently verify reported casualties.
