Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday was re-elected as chair of the Fatah party in the West Bank during the faction's first congress in nearly a decade, according to a Fatah spokesperson.

Abbas won re-election in a "consensus" vote held in Ramallah for the first time in seven years, extending his tenure as party chairmen.
