Palestinian news agencies are reporting before dawn on Friday that the Israeli military fired artillery shells at targets in the southern Gaza Strip. The reported fire comes after a day in which Hamas fired mortars at IDF troops near the border fence with Gaza. In retaliation, Israeli tanks and warplanes shot at suspected terror targets.
