The Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture estimated that the Muslim Id al-Adha festival cost a total of NIS232 million in the form of 127,200 animals sacrificed for a total of 3,180 tons of meat, according to a report by Ma'an.

The Muslim festival of Id al-Adha, which coincided this year with Yom Kippur this year, is a festive celebration involving large family and communal feasts to commemorate the Muslim tradition in which Abraham was willing to submit to divine will and sacrifice his son Ishmael although ultimately a lamb was sacrificed instead.

Jewish tradition holds that Abraham was ready to sacrifice Isaac not Ishmael.
