A Tel Aviv man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to three sex crimes charges, a day after it was revealed that police had accidentally destroyed evidence central to his case.
As part of the plea bargain, Haim Atar, 36, confessed to and was convicted of three out of the nine sexual assaults for which he was originally charged, and will serve five years in prison.
During the plea bargain hearing, Atar's attorney said his client was remorseful for his actions.
