US Vice President Mike Pence spoke with Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benítez following the decision by the South American state to move its embassy back to Tel Aviv.

Pence wanted to understand why this decision was made, as the embassy was moved to Jerusalem less than four months ago and the decision was not well received in Washington, according to a report on NOVA Paraguay 's website. Paraguay said Trump would not be able to prevent this move and the Americans would have to accept the decision.
