President Shimon Peres praised Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and PA President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday for their "brave and not simple decision" to return to the negotiating table.

At an Iftar dinner, the president said he has no doubt difficulties will arise during the talks, "but this time there is no alternative but peace - not for the Palestinians and not for Israel."Peres also called on the Muslim leaders in Israel to support the peace process. "There's a clear majority - both in the Israeli side and in the Palestinians side - for peace. We must all come together and support the leaders, to allow our children to grow up in a better future," he said.
