Peretz: Lieberman should be fired for Turkey, Egypt crises

September 10, 2011 21:39

Labor MK Amir Peretz on Saturday called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to fire Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman for his part in Israel's deteriorated relations with both Turkey and Egypt.

"The responsibility for deteriorating relations with Egypt and Turkey falls firstly on extremists in those countries, but the foreign minister has irresponsibly added fuel to the fire rather than working to calm things down," Peretz stated.

Peretz said that the government must ask that Presdent Shimon Peres and Labor MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer step in to to bring calm to the situation.
