Police discovered a 77-year-old woman stabbed to death in her apartment in the Mahaneh Yehudah neighborhood of Jerusalem early Saturday morning. Police believe that the woman's husband, also 79, murdered his wife of 17 years during a domestic dispute.

Mazal Ben Sheetrit was unconscious when paramedics arrived at her apartment on Beit Yaakov street near the Mahaneh Yehuda shuk in the early hours of Saturday morning. Her husband also had stab wounds, apparently from the altercation, and was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital with light injuries. This is the third incident this week of men murdering their partners. On Monday, a man killed his girlfriend and her son in Kiryat Shmuel. On Wednesday, an 83-year-old man murdered his 75-year-old wife in Netanya. Friday was International Women's Day.
