A TV and theater actor was arrested on Monday on suspicions that he attempted to import illicit hallucinogenic drugs from Brazil into Israel, Israeli media reported.

The actor was arrested after, earlier in May, two packages arrived at his house via Ben Gurion International Airport that contained the hallucinogenic drug Ayahuasca, a combination of a vine and shrub species used by natives of Amazonian Colombia people used for shamanistic and healing purposes. The actor reportedly put a fake name on the package, but had it sent to his home.

The suspect, along with his director and two other men, were arrested on suspicions of involvement in importing the drug.
