Police arrest senior official in the Ministry of Transport for bribery

A senior official in the the Ministry of Transport was arrested because s/he is suspected of bribery.

The official was arrested with four others who are also suspected to have received bribes from a bus company and in return gave various benefits. Two others were detained for questioning. When the suspects were arrested, their homes and offices were searched.

"The Israeli police will continue to investigate and expose improper procedures, and to find any case where there is suspicion of public corruption that harms the government and its citizens," the Police Spokesperson's Unit said.
