Police chief: Murder rate in Israel stable compared to other countries

Compared to the rest of the world, Israel's murder rate is "stable," Israel Police chief Insp.-Gen. David Cohen said Wednesday. Speaking during a special emergency session in the Knesset's Internal Affairs Committee, the police chief reiterated previous comments, saying, "It won't console anyone, but according to data on murder in the State of Israel, compared to other countries around the world, we're in a stable state." Cohen also called for police officers to refrain from violent behavior.
