Police continue to keep mum on reports of failing to notify security forces of kidnapping

In the wake of reports that police failed to notify security forces promptly after receiving a distress call, police released a statement saying they will not deny or confirm reports, which are the responsibility of the news outlets themselves.

Sunday's statement echoes their Saturday night statement, when they said they were focusing only on the investigation at the moment rather than dealing with rumors.
