Police confirmed that the body found at Tel Baruch beach in northern Tel Aviv on Saturday morning was indeed the body of 59-year-old Leonard (Aryeh) Karp, who had been missing after being attacked with his family on Friday night. From the preliminary investigation it appears the Karp family - a couple in their sixties and their 25-year-old daughter - were attacked by several assailants while sitting on the beach. The assailants lightly wounded the mother and daughter, who ran away, and then apparently beat the father to death. Seven suspects, several of whom were drunk when detained by police, have been arrest over involvement in the attack.
