Police in South arrest 5 for stolen weapons, equipment

Five people were arrested on suspicion of stealing large quantities of weapons from the IDF and state equipment, in a large, joint operation with Police and Border Police forces in the south on Wednesday.

Along with the weapons, police discovered hundreds of kilograms of copper used for cables by electrical companies, pieces of metal railroad tracks, pirated gas stations, pieces of aircraft and military tanks, ammo, batteries used by communication companies and a large amount of cash.Police said the suspects intended to sell the equipment in the black market and the ammo was to be sold to various criminals.
