Police officer: Gov't ordered exposure of Iranian spy arrest

The decision to go public with the investigation against alleged Iranian spy Ali Mansour was made by high ranking officials, a police represented said at a remand hearing for Mansour in Petah Tikva on Monday.

Asked by Mansour's attorney why he requested the gag order be lifted on Sunday, the police officer said that he was told to make the request, and that he assumed it was by the head of the serious and international crimes department or the special investigations branch of police, or by “the high up levels”.
