Police shoot, wound man found attacking wife in Bat Yam

Police shot and moderately wounded an elderly Bat Yam man after he stabbed his wife inside their apartment in the city on Saturday afternoon.
Tel Aviv police said Saturday that a 60-year-old woman had come to the Ayalon subdistrict station in Holon, and told officers that her father was threatening to murder her mother. Police drove to the apartment with the daughter and when they arrived, they found the door unlocked.
According to Tel Aviv police, Inspector Guy Amar looked in the window of the apartment and saw the husband holding a knife and threatening his wife. The man refused Amar's calls to drop the weapon and then stabbed his wife, at which point Amar shot him through the window, moderately wounding him with a single shot to the lower body. Paramedics who arrived at the scene with firefighters managed to knock down the door and evacuate the couple to Wolfson Hospital.
The mother, who had been stabbed by her husband, was lightly wounded.
