US President Barack Obama stressed on Friday that Washington's relationship with Israel "cannot be broken."

Speaking at Washington's Adas Israel Congregation, Obama said "it would be a moral failing on my part" not to stand up for Israel's right to exist.

The US president noted that tactical disagreement between the US administration and the Israel government are inevitable, but he stressed that, "no US government has done more to ensure that Israeli can protect itself than this one."

He underlined that policy-based disagreements between Washington and Jerusalem did not indicate anti-Israeli sentiments.
