Polish FM requests clarification on Netanyahu Holocaust comments

The Polish Foreign Ministry summoned the Israeli Ambassador to Poland Anna Azari on Friday for further clarification on the comment made by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"In a briefing, PM Netanyahu spoke of Poles and not the Polish people or the country of Poland,” the Israeli Prime Minister's Office commented in regards to Netanyahu's speech in Warsaw on Thursday.

“This was misquoted and misrepresented in press reports and was subsequently corrected by the journalist who issued the initial misstatement," the statement read.

"Poles cooperated with the Germans" during the Holocaust, Netanyahu said on Thursday.
