Poll: Obama's public approval falls below 60-percent threshold

US President Barack Obama's public approval rating has dropped below the 60-percent threshold for the first time since taking office, an ABC News/Washington Post survey published on Monday shows. According to the public-opinion poll, conducted among a random national sample of 1,001 people, Obama's job approval rating fell to 59%, down 10 points from its springtime peak. Americans surveyed for the poll expressed misgivings about Obama's handling of the economy, the national deficit and the country's health care reform.
