John Nash, world renowned US mathematician whose battle with schizophrenia was the focus of the Oscar-winning film "A Beautiful Mind", was killed in an auto accident Sunday along with his wife Alicia in New Jersey, according to the BBC.
The former MIT professor, whose work on game-theory earned him the Nobel Prize for economics in 1994, was 86-years old.
Russell Crowe, who portrayed Nash in the Ron Howard Directed film, tweeted: "Stunned... My heart goes out to John & Alicia & family. An amazing partnership. Beautiful minds, beautiful hearts," the BBC added.
