The State Comptroller, Micha Lindenstrauss, filed a report to Knesset on Tuesday morning, detailing the work of the State Ombudsman's Office during 2011.

Lindenstrauss told Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin that the report showed the Ombudsman had dealt with a record number of complaints in 2011 - 15,000 in total, an increase of 6.5 % on 2010.

The State Ombudsman is part of the State Comptroller's Office and its role is to examine public complaints against government offices, state institutions, and local government bodies.
