Defense Ministry Diplomatic-Security Bureau Amos Gilad arrived in Cairo Wednesday for talks with the Egyptian military government about the Gilad Schalit prisoner exchange deal, among other issues, DPA reported.

Gilad and the Egyptian officials were reported to be discussing developments in the regions, the Palestinian peace process "and the future of Egyptian-Israeli relations after Egypt decided to open the Rafah border crossing with Gaza."
