BAGHDAD - A suicide bomber struck a military base in the Iraqi town of Taji on Monday, killing at least 11 people and wounding 19 others, police and hospital sources said.

The explosion took place at the entrance to the base, which houses a jail, the sources said. Taji is 20 km (12 miles) north of Baghdad.
