The head of Fatah's reconciliation tea said Thursday he would meet with rival Palestinian faction Hamas's Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in the Gaza Strip in the coming days, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported.
The statement came after Hamas said on Monday it had prepared a series of measures to pave the way for reconciliation with the West Bank-ruling party.
Khaled Abu Toameh contributed to this report.
