Strikes blamed on Israel near the Syrian capital of Damascus were reported shortly after the announcement by the IDF of the opening of bomb shelters in the Golan Heights. 

According to local sources a large explosion occurred in  al-Kiswe southwest of Damascus.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman is currently holding security consultations with the heads of the defense establishment at the  Kirya Military Headquarters in Tel Aviv.
