Report: Rebels target Assad's convoy, Syrian president not injrued

Syrian President Bashar Assad's convoy was targeted by rebel forces, but Assad was not injured, Al Arabiya quoted an opposition general as saying on Thursday.

Assad was on his way to a mosque to perform Edi al-Fitr prayer in Damascus, according to the report.The report could not be confirmed at this time, and no further details were disclosed on the incident.

Following the report, Syrian television showed footage of Assad praying at a Damascus mosque.
