"Red alert" rocket alert sirens reportedly sounded in southern Israeli communities in the Eshkol Regional Council near the Gaza border on Monday.

The IDF said it was looking into the reports. It was not initially clear if the sirens were activated due to a false alert or due to projectile fire.
