The US was the first to tip-off Israel about the route of the 'Francop' cargo ship, which was seized by the Israel Navy overnight Tuesday, London-based Asharq Alawsat newspaper reported on Friday. The paper quoted Israel officials as saying that Israel had wanted to bomb the Iranian-commissioned arms smuggling ship, but the US vetoed such an attack. The Jerusalem Post could not confirm the report.
