Results of second round of municipal elections announced

Results for the second round of the municipal elections were announced on Tuesday night in the 38 cities and towns in which no candidate received more than 40% of the votes in the first round.

In Petah Tikvah, Labor candidate Itzik Braverman defeated incumbent mayor Uri Ohad.

In Yehud, Yaela Maklis won, becoming the third woman mayor after this elections.

In Afula, Itzhak Miron is leading over Avi Alkabetz with only 200 votes, and the final result will be announced after the soldiers' votes are counted.

The voter turnout was lower than the first round, with only 50.9% of eligible voters casting their ballot.
