Security forces have arrested members of a Hamas cell near Bethlehem who were involved in the planning of a bombing attack on a bus in Jerusalem in April and plotted other car bombing an shooting attacks, the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) announced Sunday.
At least six suspects were arrested in the joint operation between the Shin Bet, IDF and police.
Findings of a Shin Bet investigation revealed that the suspects had manufactured and assembled the explosive device that detonated in the April attack on a Line 12 in the capital bus that left 19 people wounded.
The case was transferred to the IDF prosecution, and a request to extend the suspects' detention until the end of legal proceedings was expected to be filed in the coming days.
