President Reuven Rivlin spoke at the opening meeting of the Knesset's winter session on Monday saying that Israel cannot accept "the libel that Jews are sullying the Temple Mount with their filthy feet."

"The connection of the Jewish People to the Temple Mount is undeniable," Rivlin said.

The president said that attempts are being made to destroy Jewish-Arab coexistence. "We must strengthen mutual trust."

"The Jewish people and Israel are not at war with Islam. The lie that we want to change the status quo at the Temple Mount is dangerous libel," he said.
