President Reuven Rivlin on Friday thanked Israel Football Association chairman Ofer Eini for his efforts after the Palestinians dropped a bid to suspend Israel from FIFA.

"In sport, victory is only achieved on the pitch," he said.  The result at FIFA demonstrates that such attempts to harm Israel have failed and will always fail."
