Rivlin spokesperson speaks out about possible return elections

"By tomorrow at noon, the ability to form a government is in the hands of Prime Minister, Member of Knesset Benjamin Netanyahu," said a spokesman for President Reuven Rivlin in response to questions concerning his involvement in preventing return elections. "The president will allow him to use the time that was given him by law while he hopes that we won't be caught, G-d forbid, in another election campaign."

"It is under the authority of the Knesset, according to the same exact law, to decide on dissolving [the Knesset]," continued the statement. "In light of this, the Knesset, as the representative of the sovereign, meaning the people, will bear the consequences of the decision in the future."
