President Reuven Rivlin said on Wednesday that he expects world leaders to "come to their senses" and to give "legal and international legitimacy to a genuine war against terrorism."

The president urged the United Nations member states to redefine the legal means available to countries and governments seeking to protect its citizens from terror acts.

Rivlin's remarks were first reported by Israel Radio.
