Two rockets landed in an area east of Beirut late on Thursday close to a military compound and Lebanon's presidential palace, security sources said.

No one was hurt in the incident but it marked the second time in two months that rockets have been fired in the area, amid heightened sectarian tension in Lebanon over the civil war in neighboring Syria.Sunni Muslims in Lebanon mostly support the Syrian rebels fighting to topple President Bashar al-Assad, from Syria's Alawite minority which is an offshoot of Shi'ite Islam.
