Russia's Putin calls airliner crash a great tragedy

MOSCOW - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday a plane crash which killed 224 people on their way back to St Petersburg from Egypt on Saturday was a great tragedy.

"I would like to once again express my condolences to the families and relatives of the victims," Putin was quoted as saying by Interfax news agency.
