Police arrested a 50-year-old school assistant on suspicion of assaulting a minor in a kindergarten class in Givatayim on Monday.

According to the suspicion, the female assistant grabbed the minor's hand tightly, shook it and knocked the child to the floor.

After receiving a report on the incident, police forces opened an investigation and arrested the suspect in the early hours at her home.

The assistant will be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where police are seeking to extend her detention.
