Science Ministry to launch data center on gender equality

The Science, Technology and Space Ministry will set up a NIS 3 million national center for information on gender equality, ministry director-general Peretz Vazan said on Monday.
The facility will collect data, process research and make them accessible to researchers and the general public in a user-friendly way, he added at a ministry conference on “the future of gender equality.”
The center will be established jointly with the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, Mossad Shmuel Neeman and the Workshop for Public Knowledge. Minister Ofir Akunis added that such a center will promote gender equality using evidence- based information.
The data will include statistics to be collected from government institutions, universities, research institutions and civilian social bodies.
Using an advanced digital platform, raw data will be collected and then analyzed.
The user-friendly system will provide information freely to academia, industry, government bodies and voluntary organizations.
