Israeli security forces shot a young Palestinian woman in the legs after she failed to heed to calls to stop while quickly approaching a checkpoint near the West Bank village of Kalandiya.

Police said the woman was suspected of being a terrorist and was arrested after being shot while approaching the post on foot in its vehicular entrance.

Police added that a bomb squad had been called to check the suspect's bag.

Authorities cordoned off the area following the incident, and the suspect was being questioned.
