A senior Hamas leader Sunday called for the kidnapping of Israeli soldiers at a rally in protest of the death of Arafat Jaradat, a Palestinian prisoner under Israeli custody, Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported.

Salah al-Bardwil urged resistors to capture IDF soldiers, since the abduction of Gilad Schalit led to a prisoner exchange, and the release of over 1,000 Palestinians in 2011.Some prisoners that were released during the Schalit deal, have since been recaptured, and four of them have been on a hunger strike for more than 200 days.

"A new Palestinian Intifada is about to break out in support of prisoners," Ma'an cited al-Bardwil as saying.
