Senior al-Qaida operative responsible for rocket attacks on Israel arrested in Lebanon

Lebanese Army intelligence units captured Majid bin Muhammad al-Majid, the leader of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, a terror organization affiliated with al-Qaida, this week in Beirut.

The Lebanese news station LBC reported Tuesday evening that al-Majid, who is wanted in both the United States and Saudi Arabia, spent the last several years in the Palestinian refugee camp Ain el-Hilweh in Sidon.Al-Majid made his way to Syria a few months ago and joined the rebel organization Jabhat al-Nusra, where he made an alliance with the group's commander Abu Mohammad Al-Julani.

The Abdullah Azzam Brigades claimed responsibility four months ago for rocket attacks on the north of Israel.
