Senior Fatah official Nabil Shaath announced Sunday that nine countries will vote in favor of the Palestinian bid for full member status at the United Nations Security Council, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

“We will interfere with any attempt to hinder our request to the UN,” he reportedly said to the Voice of Palestine radio station based in Ramallah.

“The PA is willing to seriously consider any suggestions as long as they include freezing settlement activities and establishing a state based on 1967 borders,” Shaath was quoted as saying.
