 "Were it not for the hypocritical embrace that they receive from part of the media, I wouldn't pay any attention to the madness of the small group of the Women of the Wall, their continual provocations and cowardliness," wrote MK Betzalel Smotrich on his Twitter feed in response to Women of the Wall's presence at the Western Wall on Friday morning. 

"No one of these 'heroes' would dare to do something similar at a mosque or a church."
Smotrich went on to support the continued control of the Israeli Rabbinate over the Western Wall plaza.
