PA Prisoners Affairs Minister Issa Qaraqe said on Sunday that Arafat Jaradat, the Palestinian detainee who died in an Israeli prison had been tortured to death, and did not die of a heart attack.

PA Central Committee Member Jibril Rajoub told Channel 2 that he holds Israel responsible for Jaradat's death. Rajoub added that the current riots are not a third intifada but are a protest that underline the importance and sensitivity of the prisoner issue to the Palestinians.
