Comments made by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman have not affected the US commitment to the Middle East peace process, State Department spokesman Mark Toner was quoted as saying late Monday.

"I've seen the remarks," AFP quoted Toner as saying. "It doesn’t change our posture or our policy one bit."The official went on to say that the US would "continue to work to bring both parties back into direct negotiations and to achieve a comprehensive settlement."
