Minister of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources Yuval Steinitz welcomed US Deputy Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette Wednesday in Jerusalem. The two discussed the growing energy cooperation between Israel and Egypt, following Steinitz's visit to Cairo earlier this week.
They also discussed Israel’s efforts to develop the natural gas resources of the eastern Mediterranean. Steinitz invited Brouillette to participate in the upcoming Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum in Cairo. He also thanked the Department of Energy for tightening sanctions on the Iranian government.
